Luxury fitness brand, Equinox, has recently taken stake in what they project will be the next wellness craze – Rumble, a NYC-based, “boxing-inspired” fitness company. The true ‘American Dream’. In just one year & with only two franchises open, the company was valued at $80 million.
The high profile startup currently has gyms in Chelsea and NoHo, with a several location in the works. With backers like Sylvester Stallone and Justin Bieber, coupled with a celebrity following including the likes of Selena Gomez to David Beckham.
Rumble was founded by Noah Neiman (former Barry’s Bootcamp Master Trainer, and cast member of BRAVO’s Work Out New York), Eugene Remm (Co-Founder EMM Group—Catch, Lexington Brass, Tenjune, SL), Anthony DiMarco (13 time IRONMAN, former Managing Director, Google) and Andy Stenzler (Co-Founder Cosí, Kidville). The four entrepreneurs saw an opening in the group fitness world to shake up stale norms. From their unique backgrounds- hospitality, service, tech and fitness- and their shared urban-chic-meets-street POV- comes Rumble…the next generation of group fitness. One that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but still delivers an incredible workout.
The boxing-inspired group fitness class is a 45-minute, 10 round, full-body strength training and conditioning workout crafted around specially designed water-filled, teardrop-style punching bags. The music is Modern Classics that blend relevant music in hip-hop and house with timeless classics (think Biggie and The Fugees) customized with mash-ups and remixes that are specific to Rumble.
Equinox operates 92 upscale, full-service clubs in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, Houston, and Washington, D.C., as well as international locations in London, Toronto, and Vancouver. The company offers an integrated selection of Equinox-branded programs, services and products, including strength and cardio training, studio classes, personal training, spa services and products, apparel and food/juice bars. Launching in 2019, Equinox Hotels will cater exclusively to the high-performance traveler to serve as the ultimate hotel destination with a 360-degree lifestyle experience.
